MARY ANN REMER WINS ART AWARD
FOR FORUM PLAYBILL COVER
Mary Ann Remer’s mixed media Window. Morning. Early. was chosen for the Outer Banks Forum Excellence Award and is featured on the cover of the 2019-20 Playbill. It incorporates collage elements combined with acrylic paint. It was selected at the Mollie Fearing Memorial Art Show, in which the Dare County Arts Council partnered with the Outer Banks Forum for the Lively Arts.
The painting evokes a quiet morning at the beach, sipping coffee while Chopin etudes are heard from a distant room – perfection!
Mollie Fearing was a founding member of the DCAC, and the memorial show reflects her strong commitment to art on the Outer Banks. “We are always delighted to partner with the Forum and support their promotion of the performing arts,” said DCAC executive Director Chris Sawin.
Mary Ann Remer’s vibrant mix of colors, shapes, and textures show the influence of her global travels. Her award winning work can be found in collections nationally and internationally, and locally juried in to the Dare County Arts Gallery in Manteo, the Arts of the Albemarle Gallery in Elizabeth City, the Chowan Arts Council in Edenton, and the Perquimans Art League in Hartford, NC.
The Playbill cover is available for viewing on the Outer Banks Forum’s web page, outerbanksforum.org and on our Facebook page.
